I chose The College of Law because of it's valued reputation in relation to it's pro bono department and it's pro-active attitude towards helping students from all backgrounds. The College has been very supportive and has provided help and advice beyond what was expected of a college.
It is committed to providing 100% support to every student with any issue that they may have from obtaining a pupillage to finding a new career to support them during their studies, to one to one help with the course and the work that is required.
The careers service is extremely useful and provides help with all aspects of obtaining a pupillage and other career options. They run a variety of pro-active workshops and encourage participation. The careers service will help students with external career requests and will tailor their advice to each individual student.
The College has given me the best possible start by helping me with my advocacy and providing constructive criticism in relation to my speech and delivery of my advocacy. With help from the careers department I have also improved my CV and interview skills and hope to use this in my pursuit of a successful career.

Full-time LPC London Moorgate, 2006/07 |
I was attracted to The College of Law because of its international reputation and strong relationship with law firms. It offers an expert, well-structured learning environment, with an LPC that’s designed and executed by and for professionals.
The College LPC helped me appreciate the expectations of a City professional. It wasn’t just about studying the letter of the law, but applying it in a commercial context. It taught me to think about the client’s objectives. It was a fantastic learning experience because I wasn’t just understanding the statutes, but working out practical solutions, which is what you need to do in practice.
The tutors at the College are part of the legal profession. They’ve done the deals in law firms and share their experience. That’s the whole point of the College LPC – it’s focused on practice. |
