Work Location:
Our Language Assistant programme spans five continents, placing people in 17 countries around the world including France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, Senegal and Latin America.

Number of Vacancies:
The number of posts varies for each country. The majority of posts are for a full academic year (Sept/Oct 2009 to May/Jun 2010. There are some posts with shorter term placements. Please see our website for specific country start dates.

Appropriate degree disciplines:
To be an English Language Assistant, you must:
• Be a native-level English speaker
• Meet the requirements of the host country (please see website)
• Have completed your secondary education (11-18) and at least 2 years of higher education in the UK by the time you start your post.
• Have the requisite language skills relevant for the country (please see website)
• You should also hold a UK or EU passport.

Average Starting Salary & Benefits Offered:
You will be paid for your work as an English Language Assistant and will receive a local wage.

Your role as a Language Assistant will be to improve your students’ confidence in communicating in English and help classes to become more interactive and fun by discussing

fashion, films, TV, lifestyles and celebrations.

You will do this by planning activities and games and using photos, travel guides and maps
from the UK as well as texts from newspapers, magazines or the Internet.
